Day off

Yesterday I took the day off from work and spent the day doing whatever I wanted to do. First I woke up late, which was a given. Most days I drag myself out of bed and when I woke up yesterday at 10:45 I thought it was a good thing I had the day off because I can't say for sure that I would have gotten up otherwise. I made myself breakfast - waffles and fruit with a herbal tea. Then I puttered around on the internet before trying the new NYSC near my apt which was Fantastic. Not crowded, a great space, 10x better than the Wall street location. Later, I attempted to go grocery shopping at trader joe's only to realize the line to pay was about a 40 minute wait as it wrapped around the entire store and I would not have time to get to the Guggenheim for pay-what-you-wish Friday's. So I left and went to the Gugg whose current exhibit is Zaha Hadid which was pretty mind-blowing and of course I loved the Kandinksy and Pollock rooms. Finally I made my way back to T.J's and completed what I had tried to accomplish over 2 hours ago. And then call me crazy but I made a separate trip to Morton's AS to pick up ingredients for a mushroom sauce and a chocolate molten lava cake. I made a nice green bean with mushroom sauce dish accompanied by Trader Joe's frozen chicken pot pie (delic!) and was very happy to find Bridget Jone's Diary on Bravo. This morning I made the molten cakes and they came out fabulously with the chocolate melted in the middle and all. Go me! because I am an absolute beginner when it comes to cooking. This is coming from the girl who did not know how to steam broccoli until she was 21 years old. Such is my life..
