Avenue Q

I was a bit busier this week because my boyfriend was in town. We went to see Avenue Q with another friend of mine and at the intermission I stated that I thought "Doubt" (Eileen Atkins was amazzzing) was a better value. I got a response like "awww, you can't compare the two....blah blah blah." Anyways, perhaps I was in a better mood for the 2nd half because by the end I realized that I had rather enjoyed the show. Or maybe the 2nd half was actually a lot better than the first.

Topics sung about pre-intermission - "Everyone's a little bit racist" "Sex" "Alcohol" "Being a worthless college grad without a job mooching off your parents" "We love gay people" etc...

Topics sung about post-intermission - "You think your dreams will come true but they won't" "You think you are special but actually you are not" "I need to dump you because I haven't found my 'purpose' but I can sleep with a Sk*nk" "Everyone's happy at other people's misery: SCHADENFREUDE" and of course, the cherry on top was at the end where they were singing about how nothing lasts for ever, like your youth and GEORGE W. BUSH. And I was sold at that point.

Conclusion: Highly Recommended
